Project Overview
This opportunity sits within the Shoreline Power Group, a joint venture between Aecon and AtkinsRéalis based in Kincardine, Ontario. The group is responsible for a major component replacement program at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station, including work on calandria tubes, pressure tubes, feeders, and related construction management and trade support. The program is part of Bruce Power’s life extension plan designed to keep its CANDU units operating safely through 2064.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Document Control Lead, this position manages the processing, distribution, reproduction, filing, and tracking of engineering and construction documents to ensure they are accurate and completed on time.
Key Duties
- Prepare and maintain project documentation according to filing and control requirements.
- Review drawings and documents for quality before they are recorded or filed.
- Receive, monitor, and track drawings and other project records.
- Work with the project team to coordinate document control activities.
- Create transmittals for sending documents to outside parties by electronic or physical delivery.
- Verify transmittal accuracy before issuance.
- Support timely review of internal and external documentation within engineering teams.
- Handle fiscal responsibilities as required by the joint venture.
- Interact with customers, suppliers, joint venture partners, project managers, project staff, estimating staff, trades personnel, and union business agents.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience, or a similar mix of education and relevant experience.
- Working understanding of engineering terms and concepts.
- Strong experience handling drawings and technical documentation.
- Ability to use electronic document management systems effectively.
- Willingness to work across field and office locations.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Completion of a full security screening and clearance process, including reference checks, residence history, employment history, education history, and other relevant details.
- Candidates with a valid Bruce Power security clearance are strongly preferred.
Additional Information
The role is a replacement vacancy. Compensation is estimated at $27 to $30 per hour. Final pay depends on work location, education, experience, specialized skills, job conditions, certifications, training, and the scope or complexity of the role.
