About the Business
Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing Private Limited (TSMPL) is a new greenfield venture within the Tata Group, focused on precision manufacturing expertise. The company is developing India’s first AI-powered, advanced semiconductor foundry.
The facility is planned to manufacture chips for use cases including power management ICs, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCUs), and high-performance computing logic. These products are aimed at supporting demand across automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications, and artificial intelligence.

Role Overview
The Data Handling Lead will be responsible for guiding data-handling transfer and process standardization across advanced semiconductor technology platforms. This role involves working with fab teams and external partners to ensure accurate, scalable, and robust handling procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of transferring data-handling procedures for 28–110 nm technologies from partner sites while partnering closely with fab teams to ensure a smooth and accurate transition.
- Oversee the setup and upkeep of data-handling rules across 28–110 nm platform technologies, including dummy insertion, Boolean implant tasks, seal-ring insertion, slot insertion, and DRC compliance.
- Work side by side with fab functions such as LT, PEI, Metrology, and others to put data-handling requirements into practice, verify them, and keep improving them over time.
- Build and support data-handling programs in UNIX/Linux environments.
- Create automation frameworks and systems that strengthen reliability, scale, and operating efficiency.
- Partner with vendors to establish and normalize data definitions and file formats, including chip and frame data after OPC, after dummy insertion, and other related process stages.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Science Engineering, IT Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Strong grasp of data-handling procedures and CAD deck requirements.
- Solid understanding of data-handling software such as Calibre, Aether, and Skipper.
- Ability to collaborate across different cultures and geographies.
- Strong teamwork orientation.

Experience
- At least 10 years of semiconductor industry experience, largely focused on data handling or mask-related work.
- Demonstrated success in taking new technologies into high-volume production.
- Proven problem-solving ability using design of experiments and analytical tools.
Additional Information
This position is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India and is a full-time onsite role.
