Role overview
Texas Department of Education is looking for one independent contractor to support several important projects tied to the statewide rollout of high-quality instructional materials and supplemental resources aligned to updated science standards. The assignment focuses on building a unified, state-approved design approach for the first release of K–2 supplemental science units so the content is attractive, easy to navigate, and practical for district staff, teachers, and students.
The selected contractor will use that framework to improve existing Tennessee-adapted units and help prepare nine additional units for a later release. All deliverables will be shaped to match the department’s vision for rigorous, inquiry-based instruction. The role also includes continued support with accessibility compliance and graphic design across related Academics work, with all outputs expected to satisfy state and federal accessibility rules as well as branding requirements.
This work is central to producing large-scale instructional content that is high-quality, accessible, and ready for district use. The contractor will help maintain consistency across materials, keep deliverables on schedule, and support implementation in line with the statewide work plan under the direction of division leadership and project owners.
