What you’ll be doing

You will carry out periodic compliance checks in line with the monitoring plan, covering areas such as MiFID II suitability, appropriateness, product governance, and client categorisation. In addition to testing, you will review marketing materials, share practical feedback with business teams, and help strengthen the firm’s compliance controls through ongoing recommendations and reporting.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out monitoring work in accordance with the Compliance Monitoring Plan.
  • Draft reports that set out observations, findings, and recommended actions for senior review.
  • Issue final reports to the relevant first-line teams and follow up until findings are addressed and closed.
  • Present results and recommendations when required.
  • Prepare management information for recurring committee and board packs.
  • Support updates to compliance policies and procedures.
  • Help deliver compliance training for the first line of defence.
  • Assist with responses to the Central Bank of Ireland.

  • Willingness to take on new responsibilities and grow in the role.

Regulatory and conduct expectations

Under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Individual Accountability Framework and the Common Conduct Standards, the role carries a Duty of Responsibility as an expected Control Function holder. This means the successful candidate is expected to act with honesty and integrity, exercise due skill, care and diligence, cooperate in good faith and without unnecessary delay with the Central Bank of Ireland, act in the best interests of customers and treat them fairly and professionally, and comply with relevant market conduct and trading venue rules.

Requirements

  • A third-level qualification is preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office capability, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working in financial services.
