Chemist Field Operation

Role Overview

This position focuses on field and laboratory chemistry support for upstream oil and gas operations. The role involves monitoring drilling fluid properties, supporting well-related chemical testing, coordinating with technical teams, and ensuring quality control across materials, samples, and laboratory activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drilling fluid characteristics and support the preparation of hydraulic programs used for hole cleaning and pore pressure management.
• Examine produced gas and water samples from CBM wells, and evaluate proppant sand as part of procurement-related checks.
• Plan and coordinate cementing activities, acidisation programs, and cement squeeze operations.
• Handle the operation and upkeep of laboratory instruments used in testing and analysis.
• Carry out sampling, bonding checks of proppant sand and other chemicals, and test cement samples at the factory site.
• Work closely with drilling engineers, completion engineers, and geoscience personnel to improve operational performance.
• Maintain chemical quality standards to support better results and effective inventory cost control.
• Monitor mud quality to help ensure efficient drilling operations.
• Operate and maintain a wide range of laboratory equipment.
• Perform quality control testing for wells, chemicals, and produced fluids.

Skills and Competencies

Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with multiple technical stakeholders and supporting field operations effectively.

Education Required

BE in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc. in Chemistry.

Experience Required

Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in upstream oil and gas (E&P) operations.

This role is based in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, India and is a full-time, onsite position.
