Role overview
An experienced Purchaser/Buyer is needed to support a construction team in County Mayo. The role focuses on keeping procurement running smoothly by sourcing materials, services, and subcontractors while helping projects stay on budget and supplied on time.
What you will do
- Source materials, subcontractors, suppliers, and services required for the construction, maintenance, and management of residential properties.
- Identify and procure building materials while negotiating supplier terms and controlling overall supply chain costs.
- Prepare and issue tender documents for construction projects and maintenance or repair works.
- Assess and onboard new vendors, verify insurance and tax documentation, and arrange supplier review meetings.
- Ensure purchasing activity and works contracts comply with applicable public procurement rules, including national and EU requirements.
- Maintain the purchasing database, raise and process orders, and monitor supplier performance.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in a Buyer, Procurement, or Supply Chain position.
- Background in the construction sector is strongly preferred.
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, or a similar field.
- Good commercial judgment and strong negotiation ability.
- Hands-on experience using procurement or accounts systems.
- Comfortable working on your own and handling several priorities in a busy environment.
Additional information
The salary is dependent on experience, with a range of €40,000 to €50,000.
