Role overview
This position supports laboratory sample and standard handling while learning the processes needed to contribute to sample management activities. The role also assists the Sample Coordinator with administrative work and carries out tasks under limited supervision, following SOPs and client-specific procedures.
Work schedule and location
The role is based onsite in Singapore at 61 Science Park Rd, 117525, with a five-day in-office arrangement. Two shift patterns are available: a morning shift and a late shift. Morning schedules may run Monday to Friday, Tuesday to Saturday, or Monday, Wednesday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The late shift runs Tuesday to Saturday in two phases: Phase 1 for the first 3 to 6 months from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and Phase 2 after that from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am.
Shift allowance
The late shift includes an allowance of SGD 350 per month during Phase 1 and SGD 700 per month during Phase 2.
What the job involves
- Carry out basic inventory and sample tracking tasks such as receiving, check-in, logging, labeling, tracking inventory, transport, and check-out activities.
- Handle administrative support work for laboratory operations and sample management.
- Update supervisors and relevant laboratory team members on task progress and status.
- Learn and apply SOPs, regulatory expectations, and storage requirements.
- Support responses to environmental unit alarms and may be asked to take part in on-call duties.
- Complete assigned work accurately, on time, and with attention to safety.
Qualifications and experience
A high school or secondary school diploma, or an equivalent qualification, is required. Technical roles may need a certificate. Candidates should bring prior experience or a combination of education and training that equals roughly 0 to 1 year of related experience.
Skills and capabilities
The role calls for strong attention to detail, good time management, clear written and spoken communication, comfort with documentation, Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to collaborate well in a team setting.
Work environment and safety requirements
This role requires compliance with GMP and cleanroom standards. Personal grooming restrictions apply in the cleanroom, including no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, or facial hair. PPE such as safety glasses, gown, gloves, lab coat, and ear plugs may be required. The job may involve standing for long periods, lifting 15 to 40 pounds, working in non-traditional environments, using standard office equipment and technology, handling pressure while managing multiple tasks, and occasional exposure to infectious agents or temperature changes.
