Role Overview
KIMS Hospital in Maidstone is seeking a caring, service-oriented Ward Host to join its Guest Services team. The hospital is the largest independent healthcare provider in Kent and is focused on delivering a high standard of patient care. In this role, you will help make patients’ stay more comfortable by supporting meal service, handling dietary needs, and contributing to a positive ward environment.
Working Hours and Pay
This position involves 30 to 35 hours each week and pays £12.71 per hour.
What You Will Do
- Share menus with patients, note meal choices, and respond to questions about dietary needs and allergens.
- Coordinate with ward and catering teams to prepare and serve food and drinks.
- Keep food handling practices safe and maintain strong hygiene standards.
- Check and log food temperatures in line with food safety rules.
- Work with colleagues to deliver a smooth, supportive patient experience.
What We Are Looking For
- Genuine enthusiasm for excellent customer care.
- Clear communication skills and a professional, compassionate manner.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, presentation, and detail.
- Previous experience in hospitality or food service is helpful, but not mandatory.
- Food hygiene certification would be an advantage, though it is not essential.
- A dependable team player who takes initiative.
