Technical Operations Engineer

Role overview

This opportunity is with a major oilfield services client serving markets across the Middle East. The role is for an Operations & Technical Engineer based in the UAE, with direct responsibility for a client account and its well testing work. It is a practical, field-facing position that combines technical delivery, client management, sales support, and supervisory duties when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Keep well testing operations and technical execution aligned with client expectations and service standards.
• Partner with the Section Manager on location strategy and sales plans for the assigned customer base.
• Monitor revenue, equipment, staffing, and HSE goals on an ongoing basis and act quickly when improvements are required.
• Build and maintain regular contact with the assigned clients and develop strong working relationships.
• Travel to job locations frequently to review processes, audit performance, and spot opportunities to improve.
• Plan, carry out, and assess jobs independently, ensuring delivery of high-quality service.
• Take on supervisory or management duties when necessary, including oversight of personnel, equipment, and inventory.
• Work directly with customers in a technical and commercial capacity, helping solve operational challenges.
• Support proposal development, tender preparation, and competitor intelligence activities.
• Own the receivables and DSO for assigned customers, from FST preparation through collection.
• Act as backup for the Service Leader during leave periods or rotation.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related science field.
• At least 2 years of prior experience working as a Field Engineer III.
• Completion of the required QHSE training.
• Strong English communication skills, including confident presentation ability.
• A proactive, self-driven approach with solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• A customer-focused mindset and comfort working in a combined technical and client-facing role.

Work location

The role is based in the UAE and includes onshore and offshore operations. It is a rotational position.
