Store Manager

Position overview

The Store Manager is responsible for the store’s sales results, profitability, customer experience, merchandising standards, daily operations, and the growth and training of the full team.

This role reports to the District Manager and oversees the Co-Manager, Assistant Manager, Key Holder, and Store Associates.

People development

• Build and sustain a strong team by sourcing, hiring, developing, and retaining capable managers and associates who fit the store’s needs and support future leadership planning.
• Set yearly objectives, carry out performance evaluations, and actively coach each direct report to improve results.
• Provide training, ongoing feedback, and hands-on coaching in product knowledge, sales techniques, visual presentation, and customer service excellence.

Customer experience

• Keep customer service a top priority by regularly reviewing performance, coaching the team, and following up to ensure a consistently strong experience.
• Stay visible on the sales floor, lead by example, respond to customer needs, and support all selling activities.
• Carry out visual merchandising guidelines, promotional directives, and maintain a clean, organized sales floor and stockroom.

Sales and profitability

• Achieve or outperform store targets related to sales, payroll, shrink, and conversion.
• Plan and implement actions that increase revenue while keeping expenses under control.

Operational effectiveness

• Manage payroll in line with company expectations.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention standards.
• Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Handle several tasks at the same time.
• Take on any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of store manager experience with a proven ability to drive sales and profitability and develop teams.
• Comfort using a personal computer and analyzing detailed reports.
• High school education or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Must be able to lift more than 30 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours during scheduled shifts.
