Descrizione del lavoro
About the company
Notion is an AI-powered collaboration workspace designed to bring knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools into one shared environment. The platform helps individuals, small teams, and large organizations organize work in a faster, clearer, and less scattered way.
At Notion, employees are expected to use the product as their first user and help create the future of work. The company values strong craftsmanship, durable products, and the belief that meaningful work should stay deeply human. Teams across the business focus on building systems that help people work better together in the AI era, including records of work, AI agents, and automation that reduces repetitive tasks.
Role overview
As a Software Engineer on the new graduate track, you will contribute to essential product experiences and help more users find value in Notion quickly. The role involves solving impactful problems, taking ownership of important projects, and making thoughtful technical decisions that influence the product direction. You will collaborate closely with design, product, and data partners while helping shape how people work through software.
The company is hiring new graduate engineers across multiple teams, and the recruiter will help match candidates with the team that best fits their interests and potential impact.
What you will do
- Partner with teammates to define, build, launch, and maintain new features from early ideas through research, implementation, and ongoing support.
- Contribute to growth and activation work by improving onboarding flows and measuring key user moments to encourage adoption.
- Help strengthen product performance and reliability, including refining existing tools and experiences for a smoother user journey.
- Work on product improvements such as synchronizing dictionaries across browsers or enhancing search to index file attachments.
- Build internal tooling that improves team efficiency and simplicity, such as scripts that bring user feedback into Notion.
Qualifications
- You are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- You must be available to begin full-time work before July 27, 2026.
- You have prior internship experience.
- You are developing proficiency in one or more programming languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, or Python.
Skills and working style
- You focus on solving real user problems with technology rather than chasing tools or trends for their own sake.
- You are comfortable using modern AI-assisted development tools and choosing the right tool based on practical value.
- You approach problems carefully, breaking down complex situations into manageable parts and collaborating when needed.
- You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly about progress and blockers, and move projects ahead proactively.
- You work well in teams and value cross-functional collaboration, shared goals, and mutual growth.
- You are interested in building and maintaining web applications and user interfaces for a large audience.
- You understand how frontend and backend pieces connect, and you are familiar with database concepts.
Preferred background
- Experience with parts of the stack used at the company, including React, TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, or Elasticsearch, is helpful.
- You enjoy building software for yourself or others and find satisfaction in creating useful products.
- You think about how technology affects society and your responsibility as a technologist.
- You appreciate the work of computing pioneers such as Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, and Alan Kay.
Compensation
Notion offers competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. Pay is determined by factors such as location, role scope, complexity, experience, and expertise. For candidates based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated annual salary range is $126,000 to $146,000.

AI expectation
Notion does not expect deep AI specialization for every role, but it does look for curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to use AI as a practical collaborator. In some roles, AI fluency may be explicitly required in the qualifications. People who succeed here use AI to think more effectively and to make their work easier to build on.
Equal opportunity and accommodations
The company welcomes applicants from many backgrounds and encourages people to apply even if they do not meet every qualification. Notion is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of legally protected characteristics. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered in line with applicable law.
Reasonable accommodations are available during the hiring process. Applicants who need support because of a disability or need a disability-related accommodation can inform their recruiter.
