About the Company
Stord helps consumer brands create smooth buying and delivery experiences by combining commerce software with large-scale fulfillment services. The company supports more than $10 billion in commerce each year across fulfillment, warehousing, transportation, and its own software products, including OMS, Pre- and Post-Purchase, and WMS systems. It works with well-known DTC and B2B brands and operates from its headquarters in Atlanta, with facilities across the United States, Canada, and Europe. The company is backed by investors such as Kleiner Perkins, Franklin Templeton, Founders Fund, Strike Capital, Baillie Gifford, and Salesforce Ventures.
Role Overview
This position is for a new graduate software engineer based in Stord’s Atlanta office near Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. The team is built to work in person, with at least three days each week expected onsite. Being near the warehouse and operations is part of the job, giving engineers direct visibility into how their software performs in real production settings.
What You Will Do
- Take ownership of product features from backend API work through user-facing implementation in a core domain.
- Release your own changes and follow their behavior after deployment.
- Build tests that focus on real failure scenarios, not only happy-path cases.
- Take part in code reviews by both giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Grow your understanding of event-driven architecture, asynchronous processes, and distributed services.
- Work closely with senior engineers and use that access to accelerate your learning.
What They Are Looking For
The team values problem-solving and learning ability more than a specific language background. Candidates should have solid full-stack basics, be comfortable with database queries and styling, and know at least one backend language. Familiarity with Git and shared repositories is important, as is the discipline to write tests. The role also expects comfort using AI-assisted coding tools while still applying your own technical judgment.
What Will Help You Stand Out
Experience from anything you have built or launched, such as an internship project, a personal project, or an open-source contribution, will be an advantage. Additional familiarity with relational databases beyond ORM usage, an understanding of deployment pipelines, and experience working in unfamiliar codebases will also strengthen your profile.
Success Milestones
In the first 30 days, you should have shipped at least one item to production and gained enough familiarity with the team to work proactively. By 90 days, you should be independently driving features from planning through deployment with minimal support and contributing useful review feedback. By six months, senior engineers should trust your work, and you should be forming well-supported opinions about the systems you build in.
Work Arrangement
This is an onsite role in Atlanta, and the engineering team follows a minimum in-office presence of three days per week.
