Role Summary
This position involves taking advanced responsibility for complex safety, health, and environmental work to support compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. The role requires sound independent judgment, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to lead or support a team on major project components.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out sophisticated technical work across environmental, health, and safety areas with minimal supervision.
- Ensure compliance with ES&H standards and relevant federal and state regulatory obligations.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of requirements issued by specific government agencies.
- Apply advanced environmental principles and technical methods to assigned work.
- Work independently on self-directed tasks and use sound judgment to analyze data and solve problems.
- Create, roll out, and maintain safety and health programs, procedures, and systems.
- Identify, monitor, and help prevent hazards and illnesses in the workplace.
- Investigate incidents, injuries, and complaints related to workplace hazards.
- Recommend changes to processes, designs, operating methods, and equipment to reduce risk.
- Develop and deliver employee training and emergency preparedness activities while ensuring program quality.
- Provide technical guidance and interpret regulatory requirements for the team and stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and propose corrective actions where needed.
- Take technical responsibility for a major project phase or component.
- Lead ES&H specialists and/or support staff as needed.
