Rust Engineer

Role overview

We are looking for a skilled Rust Engineer to join an international engineering group working on the core lending platform. This is an English-first role focused on building highly available, low-latency services that support secure financial operations. The position sits in a fast-moving, AI-supported development environment where strong engineering discipline and pragmatic delivery both matter.

What you'll work on

• Create and improve modules for loan origination, risk decisioning, and ledger processing, with a strong focus on correctness in highly concurrent systems.
• Write reliable tests, participate actively in peer reviews, and follow idiomatic Rust practices to maintain high code quality.
• Contribute to architectural choices using Domain-Driven Design and microservice-based patterns that help the platform scale.
• Use AI-enabled tools to speed up development work, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Tune system performance to reduce memory contention, uncover bottlenecks, and satisfy demanding financial-grade service targets.
• Work closely with distributed teams in English through reviews, coordination, and cross-functional planning.

What we're looking for

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong English communication skills for technical conversation and asynchronous teamwork.
• At least 3 years of backend development experience in a high-performance language such as Rust, Go, Java, or C++, including solid concurrency and memory management experience.
• Good knowledge of Domain-Driven Design and distributed systems, along with familiarity with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Comfort using AI-assisted development tools and the ability to create effective prompts and workflows around them.
• Clear security awareness, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with global teams.
• Helpful extras include familiarity with the Rust ecosystem such as Tokio, Serde, and SQLx; experience with Redis or Kafka; exposure to fintech or core lending systems; cloud-native tools like Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, or GCP; and open-source contributions.

Additional information

This role is fully onsite in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. It is a contract position and requires working in an international, fully English-speaking environment.
