Descrizione del lavoro
About the role
NZ Post is looking for a part-time Processing Officer for its Oamaru site on Severn Street. In this position, you will work in a busy parcel and freight processing environment, helping get items sorted, consolidated, and dispatched so they are ready for courier delivery. The work may rotate across several processing functions, including preparation, hand sorting, machine sorting, consolidation, and dispatch. It is an active role that helps you stay physically engaged during the shift.
Working hours
This role runs Monday to Saturday from 4:30am to 7:30am.
Shift and pay details
From 1 July, the hourly rate is $26.75. In addition, a night shift allowance applies until 6am, with an extra $3.29 per hour during that period, and a forklift allowance may also apply. The role includes 5 weeks of annual leave.
Role requirements
You should be available for the stated early-morning schedule and able to handle physically demanding warehouse work, including lifting up to 25kg. A restricted driver licence is required. Forklift experience is helpful, although training can be provided if needed. If you already hold an OSH certificate or F endorsement, that is considered an advantage.
What you will enjoy
NZ Post offers development opportunities to support your career, a supportive team culture, onsite parking, a kitchen, and a safe, secure workplace. As a long-standing government-owned organisation, it provides stability along with a range of employee benefits. Permanent employees may also receive access to discounted health insurance for themselves and their family, special rates on holiday homes around New Zealand, access to a wellness portal, and an Employee Assistance Programme.
Additional information
NZ Post encourages an inclusive workplace where people can bring their authentic selves to work. Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand, and any offer will depend on passing a drug test and security check. The organisation values the principles of bringing the real you, working stronger together, and delivering the best.
About you
You will do well in this role if you are a committed team player, work safely, manage your time well, and bring good energy to a physically active job. Strong attention to detail and solid geographical knowledge are also useful for success in the position.
