About the Role

There is an opening for a Machine Operator on PM2. In this position, you will run machine equipment in line with Essity’s safety requirements and carry out production tasks efficiently. You should understand how the equipment functions, be able to handle routine cleaning, and complete cloth changes when needed.

The roster consists of 12-hour shifts: two night shifts, then a 24-hour break, followed by two day shifts and then a three-day break. This position is covered by the Pulp & Paper Workers CEA.

Key Duties

• Run equipment according to standard operating procedures and make adjustments where needed.
• Carry out daily tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Support continuous improvement activities and help solve problems as required.
• Maintain tidy, well-organised work areas and complete the necessary records and documentation.

Training and Development

Successful candidates will be expected to follow a training plan created by the Supervisor with support from the team.

About You

You should bring solid experience in an operating role, ideally gained in a manufacturing setting. This is a practical, hands-on job, so a strong focus on safe work practices is essential. Mechanical aptitude, or at least a genuine interest in how equipment works, will be an advantage.

Checks and Work Eligibility

You must have the legal right to work in New Zealand. As part of the hiring process, you should also be willing to complete a police check, a pre-employment report, and drug and medical assessments.
