About the role
Team Global Express New Zealand provides freight forwarding, transport, and logistics services across the country, serving customers from the far north to the deep south. With parcel volumes rising, the Hastings branch is looking for a full-time Parcel Sorter to support day-to-day operations.
This role is centered on the safe movement of freight, meeting delivery targets, and helping ensure parcels travel through the network on time and without damage.
Key responsibilities
- Handle freight carefully and securely while loading and unloading.
- Support branch performance by scanning freight efficiently using the On-time system.
- Check that all paperwork and freight documentation are complete and correct.
- Operate workplace equipment safely and competently.
- Deal with bay labels, re-stack damaged freight, and isolate leaking items where required.
- Work well with colleagues and help maintain strong working relationships.
- Communicate clearly in a team-based environment.
What we’re looking for
To succeed in this position, you should be physically fit, comfortable working as part of a team, and familiar with freight handling. A solid focus on health and safety is essential.
- Previous experience in the freight industry.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and health & safety.
- OSH-approved forklift certificate.
- F endorsement on your licence is an advantage, though not compulsory.
- Previous long-fork experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of dangerous goods regulations is helpful, but not essential.
