About the Venue
The Dog & Fox is a well-known pub and hotel located in Wimbledon Village. It operates as an established event space and offers pub dining alongside a premium range of draught and craft beers, local London spirits, and quality wines. The menu features fresh, seasonal British ingredients, and the property includes 25 boutique bedrooms upstairs.
The venue is easy to access, being about a 10-minute walk from Wimbledon train station and also served by several bus routes. It stays busy throughout the year, with major periods such as the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in summer and Christmas events during winter.
Nearest public transport options include Wimbledon Train Station and the 93 bus.
Role Overview
The Night Porter is central to overnight guest service, safety, and security across the pub and hotel. This position involves handling late check-ins, supporting guest requests, keeping rooms in good order, and preparing for breakfast service before the day team starts.
Key Duties
- Welcome and check in guests arriving late at night.
- Respond to guest requests and provide helpful overnight support.
- Help maintain room presentation and standards.
- Carry out regular health, safety, and audit checks as needed.
- Prepare the breakfast area and related service setup for the morning.
- Support the safety and security of guests, the pub, and the hotel during overnight hours.

The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, personable, self-driven, and comfortable working independently at times. Prior experience in a similar environment is expected, along with strong communication skills and a sharp eye for detail.
Skills
