Network Planning Support Officer

Role overview

This position supports the network planning function by keeping systems current, preparing reports, and coordinating planning activities in line with internal standards and operating procedures. The role also manages airport slot coordination and helps organize ad hoc and charter flight requests, with the aim of improving aircraft utilization on routes that deliver strong profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Request and negotiate slots for extra and ad hoc flying at L2 and L3 airports, while coordinating with airport authorities, civil aviation bodies, and commercial sales teams.
• Secure approvals for schedules and additional flights within required timelines and according to approved processes.
• Handle schedule revisions caused by operational needs, commercial changes, slot approvals, weather disruption, and similar factors.
• Keep the airport and airline code database current using IATA reference standards, and share updated information with relevant stakeholders when needed.
• Maintain and archive ASA agreements, along with an updated traffic rights status tracker for quick reference.
• Build and update hub timetables on a regular basis for all Air Arabia hubs.
• Coordinate continuously with INNOVATA and OAG to ensure schedules and new routes are reflected correctly in SSIM and updated on time for global recognition.
• Publish bus codes and schedules through the approved systems and channels, including Accelaero and Lufthansa/Net-line where applicable, covering new loads, revisions, and cancellations.
• Enter schedule changes, extra flights, and cancellations into the system to help protect passengers and keep operations smooth.
• Prepare weekly utilization reports showing average aircraft flying hours across the assigned region, hub, or area.
• Work with Revenue Management on cancellations, additional flights, or changes to support efficient fleet use and yield performance.
• Assist dispatch teams in managing schedule interruptions caused by AOG events or other unexpected situations.
• Partner with Engineering Planning and maintenance teams to organize aircraft schedules for maintenance with minimal operational impact.
• Carry out other duties assigned by the line manager as required.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, such as Industrial, Planning, or Computer Engineering, or in Business Management, Commerce, or an equivalent field from a recognized university is required.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position or in an analytical role within the aviation commercial function. Background in a low-cost airline is considered an advantage. An IATA certification in Network Fleet and Schedule Planning is a plus.

The role requires strong comfort with technology-based systems and tools, especially advanced Microsoft Excel. The candidate should also be cost-conscious, capable of solving problems effectively, and able to analyze data to identify issues and recommend practical, cost-efficient solutions.

Fluency in English is required, and Arabic is an added advantage. The candidate should be able to combine technical knowledge with reporting skills and contribute to business strategy and KPI delivery.
