About the Business
Tata Electronics Private Limited is a greenfield initiative of the Tata Group focused on manufacturing precision components. The company is developing India’s first AI-enabled, advanced semiconductor foundry as a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd. The plant is being built to make chips used in power management ICs, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCUs), and high-performance computing logic, supporting demand across automotive, computing, data storage, wireless communication, and artificial intelligence.
Tata Electronics is part of the Tata Group, which has operations in more than 100 countries across six continents and is guided by the purpose of improving the quality of life in the communities it serves worldwide through long-term value creation built on trust-based leadership.
Role Purpose
This position is responsible for leading and overseeing the complete procure-to-pay cycle for semiconductor fab construction programs. The focus is on keeping procurement and payments on schedule, maintaining strong capex controls, ensuring compliance, and protecting construction timelines. The role also involves providing functional direction, aligning multiple teams, and driving continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the full PR-to-payment cycle for construction and capex-related spend, including EPC work, services, and milestone-based purchases.
- Supervise, coach, and grow the P2P operations team while setting priorities, service levels, and performance expectations.
- Manage capex governance by ensuring milestone-based purchase orders, invoice checks, retention handling, and capitalization alignment with Finance and Project teams.
- Serve as the main P2P contact for Construction, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and EPC vendors, and handle issue resolution and escalations.
- Maintain controls by enforcing delegation of authority, contract adherence, audit preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
- Promote digital adoption and process improvement through ERP/P2P usage, shorter cycle times, automation, and movement toward a more digitized and autonomous P2P model.
- Set and monitor KPIs such as PR/PO turnaround time, first-pass yield, on-time payment rate, and capex leakage, then drive ongoing improvements.
Essential Outcomes
- No delays in construction caused by P2P issues.
- Vendor payments must be accurate, timely, and compliant.
- Audits should remain clean, with strong control over capex spend.
- Cycle times should improve, and stakeholder satisfaction should stay high.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, finance, or a similar discipline is required; an MBA is preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in P2P or procurement operations, including people management exposure.
- Hands-on experience supporting large construction or capex-heavy programs, preferably within semiconductor or other high-tech environments.
- Solid understanding of EPC contract structures, milestone-based payments, and ERP/P2P tools such as SAP.
