About the Program

dubizzle, together with Bayut, is opening applications for a 6-month internship within the Business Intelligence team. The program is known for strong mentorship, a fast-moving and high-performance setting, and an open culture where interns can make meaningful contributions.

Role Overview

As a Machine Learning Intern, you will support data science initiatives across the full lifecycle — starting with data cleaning and exploration, then moving into visualization, model building, evaluation, and deployment. You will work in a modern cloud-based data warehousing environment and collaborate with teams across product, technology, business, trust & safety, finance, and other functions.

Key Responsibilities

In this internship, you will help turn raw data into useful machine learning outputs and business insights while contributing to a collaborative, ambitious team working on big data and live ML systems.

Additional Responsibilities

• Work with SQL to query large datasets and supply data to machine learning models.
• Investigate datasets to identify patterns, data quality issues, and overall completeness.
• Use Python to analyze data and develop statistical models that address business needs.
• Test machine learning models and adjust parameters based on the problem being solved.
• Partner with senior team members to take machine learning models into production.
• Create reporting and dashboarding tools that present performance metrics and business insights.
• Contribute to a strong team culture and a continuous focus on advanced data practices.
• Take part in an on-call rotation outside regular hours to help maintain live ML systems.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in AI, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, or another closely related quantitative discipline.
• Solid grounding in statistics and mathematical methods.
• Foundational understanding of machine learning algorithms.
• Basic working knowledge of SQL.
• Familiarity with visualization tools such as Periscope.
• Strong spoken and written communication abilities.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
