Role overview

We are looking for a lively, approachable, and highly organized HR Coordinator to support a compact Human Resources team. This role provides broad HR assistance across benefits administration, onboarding, training coordination, employee records, and payroll support for the organization.

The position also helps strengthen company culture by encouraging employee engagement, reflecting core values, and acting as a dependable point of contact for employees throughout the business. Support will be provided to teams in both the U.S. and Canada, so fluency in English and Spanish is essential.

This is an on-site role with a Monday through Friday schedule in Houston, TX.

Human resources administration

  • Act as a main HR contact for employees and managers, offering guidance and support when needed.
  • Help administer HR policies, programs, and procedures across the organization.
  • Coordinate pre-employment checks such as background screening, motor vehicle reports, drug tests, and physical exams.
  • Manage onboarding activities, including I-9 verification, new hire orientation, and a welcoming first-day experience.
  • Maintain vehicle registrations, license plates, and fleet fuel card administration.
  • Keep employee files and HR documentation organized through filing, scanning, archiving, and retention practices.
  • Support compliance with relevant federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Track and coordinate employee training through the learning management system.

Benefits administration

  • Support health and welfare benefits and serve as a communication link between employees, the PEO, benefits broker, and insurance carriers.
