About the company

Blinq is an AI-powered contacts app designed for people who connect with other people. The company’s goal is to help important relationships and opportunities surface instead of being lost to missed introductions or forgotten follow-ups.

Originally launched as the leading digital business card product, Blinq is now used by 4 million professionals and by teams across 93% of the Fortune 500. The company has raised more than $45 million from Blackbird, Square Peg, HubSpot Ventures, and Touring Capital.

Why this role stands out

  • Join an AI-native company at a pivotal stage where the product already has traction, customers, and funding, but still offers room to shape the future.
  • Work with a high-performing team that values exceptional talent and expects everyone to bring their best.
  • Be part of a globally ambitious business being built from Australia, with teams across Sydney, Melbourne, San Francisco, and New York.
  • Enjoy a flexible in-person rhythm: three days a week in the office and two days where you work best.

How the team works

Blinq describes its culture as ambitious, rigorous, and craft-driven. The team emphasizes optimism, high standards, honesty, simplicity, and doing excellent work with focus and efficiency.

  • The team starts from what is possible and then works through constraints.
  • High talent standards are treated as a core part of the culture.
  • Attention to detail and quality are central to the engineering approach.
  • People are expected to speak candidly and pursue the right solution, even when it is uncomfortable.
  • The company values building elegantly and efficiently rather than adding unnecessary complexity.
  • Everyone is expected to be genuinely committed to doing their best work.

Engineering impact

The engineering function is central to Blinq’s growth. The team builds tools that make identity sharing instant, intuitive, and human. This role contributes to the systems, APIs, and services that power core product experiences and supports scalable growth across the platform.

Role overview

As a Full Stack Engineer focused on backend systems, you will develop and maintain APIs and services that support identity sharing, real-time analytics, onboarding, and QR event processing. You will help shape architecture, improve reliability and performance, and keep abstractions clean across the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Build backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Design scalable systems that support user onboarding and QR event ingestion.
  • Work closely with frontend, mobile, and data teams to ship connected product features.
  • Strengthen observability, test coverage, and service performance.
  • Contribute to new product development from early concept through launch in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in backend engineering, preferably in fast-moving product teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and solid knowledge of asynchronous application design.
  • Exposure to GCP or similar cloud platforms.
  • Good understanding of system architecture, data modelling, and API security.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across functions.
  • Experience with integrations and MCP.

Perks and benefits

  • Equity and real ownership in the company’s growth.
  • Competitive compensation with opportunities for progression as the business scales.
  • 20 days of annual leave, plus a flexible approach for additional time off when needed.
  • Regular team activities such as lunches, padel, game nights, and Barry’s sessions.
  • Catered lunch at some offices and an always available snack bar.

Additional information

The hiring process may involve artificial intelligence tools to help review applications, screen resumes, evaluate responses, and flag possible inconsistencies or verification signals. These tools support the recruitment team but do not replace human decision-making. Final hiring decisions are made by people. If you want more details about how your data is handled, you can contact the company.
