Role overview
dnata is hiring Load Controllers and Turn Around Coordinators for Perth Airport. This opportunity sits with a major ground handling operation and focuses on load control work across individual flights and shifts.
What you will do
- Prepare and check both system-based and manual weight and balance records with accuracy.
- Work closely with airline representatives to make sure procedures and policies are followed.
- Verify passenger counts as well as baggage and cargo weights.
- Compile and issue loading instruction reports for ground handling teams.
- Deliver centralised load control support to airline clients.
- Share the operational information needed by flight crews and operations teams to help optimise fuel uplift and trim fuel transfer within available ground time.
- Track schedule changes and update Departure Control System records accordingly.
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Help maintain a strong safety-first culture built on awareness, vigilance, and accountability.
Experience and knowledge needed
- At least 3 years of experience in ground handling.
- Solid understanding of aviation rules and procedures, including flight planning, weather, NOTAMs, and load control legislation.
- Dangerous Goods Awareness Training.
- Strong computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good analytical ability, a high level of accuracy, and close attention to detail.
- Ability to stay effective under pressure and in stressful situations.
- Comfortable communicating with people from different backgrounds.
- Understanding of the importance of meeting service level agreements while still complying with safety requirements.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage several issues at once and resolve them efficiently.
- Able to work independently at times and adapt to a fast-moving team environment.
Working pattern
This role requires commitment to rostered shifts across a 24/7 schedule.
