Role overview
O'Neill & Brennan Ireland is hiring an Estimator for a main contractor delivering a range of live projects across Ireland. The successful person will be based in County Offaly and will play a key role in the estimating and tendering process.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with quantity surveying, procurement, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders to support tender preparation.
- Coordinate with project teams and other parties to understand project needs and shape estimating and tender strategies aligned to objectives.
- Use estimating platforms and supporting tools such as Excel to complete work accurately and efficiently.
- Stay current with building methods, relevant codes of practice, building regulations, and legislation so these are fully considered in estimates.
- Prepare winning tender submissions and support a smooth handover to the project team after award.
Experience and requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in estimating or quantity surveying.
- Background as an estimator within a main contracting business, with a strong record of submitting project bids.
- Strong knowledge of building standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage estimating workflows and related schedules to tight deadlines.
- Excellent IT capability, including familiarity with tools such as CostX or Buildsoft.
- Comfortable working collaboratively within a team and across multiple departments.
Additional information
Salary is stated as DOE, with an expected range of €85,000 to €100,000.
