Role overview
This is a remote, hourly contractor assignment focused on English-language quality review and expert writing support. The work involves checking AI-generated responses, creating expert-level language content when needed, and giving clear, practical feedback that helps improve model outputs. You will review answers for correctness, clarity, and prompt compliance; spot issues in reasoning, meaning, method, and understanding; verify facts where necessary; and produce strong explanations and revised responses that show the correct approach.
The position is with SME Careers, a rapidly growing AI Data Services company and a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate. The organization supplies AI training data to some of the largest AI companies and foundation-model labs in the world. Your language expertise contributes directly to improving leading AI systems so their responses become more accurate, natural, and easy to understand.
What you will do
- Design detailed training prompts and responses across a range of topics to support AI learning and broader subject coverage.
- Assess and compare AI outputs to improve accuracy, fluency, and relevance to context.
- Check models for mistakes or bias and help confirm that outputs remain dependable across different use cases.
- Review reasoning quality, identify step-by-step issues, and provide precise edits and explanations.
- Fact-check information when needed and rewrite responses using stronger, more correct methods.
Profile and qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or above in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline.
- Excellent English ability at C2 or native level is preferred; at minimum, C1 proficiency is required.
- Professional-level ability in at least one additional language is a strong advantage.
- Solid command of grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse organization, and style editing across different tones and formats.
- Strong analytical skills for spotting meaning shifts, ambiguity, inconsistencies, and subtle language errors, with the ability to explain fixes clearly in writing.
- Comfort using style guides and maintaining consistency in terminology, tone, punctuation, and capitalization.
- Dependable, self-managed, and able to work consistently in an hourly remote contractor setup across time zones.
- Prior work in AI annotation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and similar platforms is strongly preferred.
