Role Overview
This position is for a detail-focused e-learning developer who can manage content updates, builds, and publishing tasks for online courses. The work centers on Brightspot course content maintenance, Canvas course publishing, and related mastering and editing activities. You will help assemble and revise course and lesson material, apply technical corrections in Brightspot CMS and Learnosity, and make sure content moves smoothly into Canvas LMS. The role is highly execution-driven and requires close coordination with instructional design, subject matter expert, and quality assurance teams to keep deliverables on schedule and up to standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and revise course and lesson content inside Brightspot CMS, including required corrections in Brightspot and Learnosity when assessments need updates.
- Prepare learning content for quality review and final approval.
- Release approved courses and lessons from Brightspot into Canvas LMS using the client’s custom LTI tools.
- Set up Canvas course elements such as assignments, discussions, quizzes, and gradebook configurations.
- Assist with Canvas course mastering, content editing, and QA-driven corrections.
- Carry out fixes identified by the QA team in both Brightspot and Canvas.
- Perform quick validation checks on deliverables to confirm accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Work within the defined scope for build, update, edit, greenlighting, and review activities.
- Maintain JIRA updates to show the current status of assigned edits and QA tasks.
- Review and separate client-shared JIRA edits so tasks are scoped correctly.
- Monitor progress in internal tracking sheets and reporting tools for edits, QA, and publishing.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support on-time delivery of assigned content.
- Raise concerns early when risks, blockers, or clarifications are needed for task completion.
- Handle other content-related assignments routed through JIRA.
Skills and Requirements
The ideal candidate should have practical experience working with Canvas LMS and Brightspot CMS, including troubleshooting content issues. Experience with Learnosity is a plus. You should be comfortable following structured QA workflows, working with JIRA and Google Sheets, and understanding how LMS content is organized and published. The role also requires the ability to interpret scope definitions, coordinate with multiple teams, communicate clearly about issues or delays, and keep several workstreams organized at once.
