Role overview
This contract role is for a remote Document Annotation Specialist supporting high-volume document review and AI data validation work. The position pays between $25 and $30 per hour and is designed for a weekly commitment of 10 to 40 hours.
What you will do
- Review source PDF documents against AI-produced JSON outputs and the provided schema definitions.
- Compare each field in the original file with the extracted data and correct any mismatches, omissions, or inaccuracies.
- Check more complex records for correctness, including calculations for totals, summaries, and linked references.
- Verify large sets of document fields carefully to protect data quality and consistency.
- Flag unclear cases, document them clearly, and work with teammates to improve the process.
- Help improve extraction performance by spotting unusual cases and annotation difficulties.
Required background
Candidates should have prior experience in annotation, document QA, proofreading, or detailed review work where precision matters. The role requires strong reading comprehension for dense PDFs, tables, and financial content, plus familiarity with JSON structure and nested fields. You should also be comfortable doing basic arithmetic checks and working through hundreds of fields with a high level of accuracy.
