Role Overview
LRS Architects is looking for a Design Architect to join its Commercial + Housing studios. The position centers on strong conceptual thinking, schematic design, and high-quality architectural problem solving across projects of different scales. Key Responsibilities
- Help shape the overall design direction for commercial and housing assignments.
- Turn client objectives, project programs, and budget parameters into thoughtful architectural solutions.
- Work closely with the Design Manager, Principals, and other disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
- Take part in design presentations and explain ideas clearly to clients and other stakeholders.
- Advance design packages from early concept through construction documentation while staying aligned with company standards and project needs.
- Coordinate with consultants, public authorities, and internal team members to maintain technical quality and design intent.
What You Should Bring
- Strong enthusiasm for design and the ability to turn abstract ideas into practical, buildable outcomes.
- Clear communication and teamwork skills for working with clients, consultants, and colleagues.
- A willingness to contribute ideas, respond to feedback, and improve designs through iteration.
- Good time management and task organization in a collaborative studio setting.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
- 6–12+ years of relevant architectural experience, especially in commercial and/or housing work.
- Working knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar design tools.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates design-led work.
- Architecture licensure is preferred, though it is not mandatory.
