Descrizione del lavoro

Role Overview

Nando’s is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join its Data and Analysis team in Putney, England. The business is focused on creating lasting happiness for employees, customers, communities, founders, and suppliers, while continuing to modernise its digital capabilities and use technology to solve complex restaurant-industry challenges.

The Data and Analysis team’s purpose is to make sure the right people have access to the right information at the right time, and to help the business get maximum value from data. The team is currently focused on turning data into actionable insight, improving the accuracy and timeliness of reporting, increasing data maturity, strengthening predictive analytics, and exploring how AI can support the business.

This role sits within a collaborative tech environment and will contribute to Nando’s strategic goals by helping build a more data-led way of working.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and maintain SQL models in Dataform so dependable data can flow through the organisation’s pipelines.
  • Work alongside data engineers on the planning, development, and testing of data pipelines, adding value beyond simply using the output.
  • Develop and improve cloud-based dashboards and reports in Looker or another BI platform to provide clear, practical insights for support teams and restaurants.
  • Turn business questions into focused analysis by first understanding the problem, the context, and the end goal.
  • Present findings in a clear way to both technical and non-technical audiences, adjusting the message to suit the audience.
  • Review teammates’ work and help strengthen data quality practices and documentation.
  • Look for opportunities to reduce manual work through automation and take ownership of implementing improvements.

Experience and Technical Background

  • Strong hands-on experience writing advanced SQL for querying, transforming, and modelling data, including window functions, CTEs, and complex data types.
  • Practical experience building and maintaining data models in Dataform or a comparable transformation tool such as DBT or Snowflake.
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards in Looker or a similar BI tool for self-serve business reporting.
  • Comfort using Git as part of normal development workflows, including branching, pull requests, and code review.
  • Ability to shape business requests into well-defined, actionable work.
  • Experience applying data quality practices such as testing, issue detection, and clear communication of limitations.
  • Ability to document data models, definitions, and lineage to a production-ready standard.
  • Understanding of data governance and good data management practices.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and when they are appropriate for analysis.
  • Experience supporting data engineers in the design, coding, and testing of data processing pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools, using them critically and responsibly with awareness of data governance considerations.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex analysis in simple terms and tell the story behind the data.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to experiment with new tools and approaches, including AI.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and identifying the right question before jumping to an answer.
  • A product-minded approach that focuses on the underlying business objective, not just the immediate request.
  • Proactive thinking when it comes to improving processes, data quality, and ways of working.
  • A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to review others’ work and share knowledge.

Values and Culture

  • Pride: taking ownership and care in everything done, from food quality to work output.
  • Passion: bringing enthusiasm and energy to the role.
  • Courage: speaking up, challenging the norm, and trying new ideas.
  • Integrity: doing the right thing and building trust.
  • Family: supporting one another and creating a sense of belonging.

Inclusion

Nando’s is committed to an inclusive and respectful workplace where people from all backgrounds can thrive. The company welcomes applications from a wide range of candidates and will consider reasonable adjustments to support applicants during the hiring process.

Compensation

The role is offered with a competitive salary.
