Data Analyst

Role overview

We are looking for a mid-level Data Analyst to support the Cyber Data Operations function within ISDAD in Jersey City, New Jersey. This contract assignment runs for 12+ months and is intended for W2 candidates only. The role sits in a BFSI environment, which is strongly preferred, and calls for 8–10 years of hands-on experience.

What you will do

• Collect, review, validate, and clean data coming from databases, APIs, spreadsheets, and internal platforms.
• Partner with business stakeholders and development teams to understand source systems and overall business needs.
• Prepare both technical and functional data requirements and assist with data mapping work.
• Write SQL queries for extraction, analysis, and reporting needs.
• Use Python to support analysis, scripting, and automation activities.
• Assist with API-driven integration and data validation workflows.
• Design dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI.
• Spot data-quality gaps, patterns, and opportunities to improve processes.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams on enterprise data initiatives.

What we are looking for

• 8–10 years of experience in data analysis or a closely related analytics role.
• Strong practical knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Solid Python skills for analysis, scripting, and automation.
• Experience handling APIs for data extraction, integration, and validation.
• Proven ability to build dashboards and visualizations in Microsoft Power BI.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong data analysis capability.
• Good understanding of data validation, mapping, transformation, and quality controls.
• Ability to gather business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational ability.
• Clear communication skills and comfort working across both business and technical teams.
• Careful attention to detail and the ability to interpret data in an operational and business context.

Additional details

The pay rate for this assignment is $50 to $55 per hour. The expected experience level is 8+ years. The client prefers candidates with BFSI background. This opportunity is open to W2 candidates only.

Preferred background

• Experience in cybersecurity, enterprise data warehouse, or data operations settings is preferred.
• Exposure to Agile delivery practices and tools such as Tableau is an added advantage.
