Descrizione del lavoro
Role overview
This role leads civil construction delivery for solar power projects. The position is responsible for ensuring that all on-site civil activities are executed safely, on time, and in line with approved technical documents and project requirements.
Civil works planning and execution
- Direct end-to-end civil works for solar developments, including piling, module mounting foundations, inverter room foundations, control room structures, internal roads, drainage networks, and fencing.
- Make sure every construction activity follows sanctioned drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and the agreed project timeline.
- Prepare the execution sequence and construction approach needed to support fast-track solar EPC delivery.
Contractor and site management
- Oversee several civil contractors handling foundations, roads, buildings, and balance-of-plant work.
- Track contractor productivity, workmanship quality, and safety performance on site.
- Ensure the right manpower, equipment, and materials are available to achieve milestone targets.
Coordination with EPC and installation teams
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and module mounting teams so civil progress matches solar installation plans.
- Synchronize foundation and road readiness with tracker or module mounting structure installation schedules.
Quality control and engineering compliance
- Review and apply inspection and test plans, method statements, and construction drawings.
- Confirm proper testing for concrete, soil compaction, pile load tests, and foundation structural stability.
- Maintain compliance with IS codes, customer standards, and solar project specifications.
- Ensure records such as cube test results, pile test reports, quality documentation, and as-built drawings are completed accurately.
Safety and environmental compliance
- Enforce strong HSE discipline across all civil activities.
- Implement safe practices for excavation, piling, and concreting operations.
- Maintain environmental compliance related to soil handling, drainage, and site restoration.
Schedule, cost, and progress control
- Review daily and weekly progress against the EPC schedule.
- Spot delays in foundations, roads, or buildings and put recovery actions in place.
- Manage construction costs through material efficiency, contractor control, and better execution methods.
Issue resolution and project handover
- Address site challenges such as soil variation, pile refusal, waterlogging, access restrictions, and drawing discrepancies.
- Provide technical and managerial solutions so solar module installation timelines are not affected.
- Support civil completion and handover for module mounting and commissioning phases.
Required qualifications and work environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- Experience of 10 to 22 years in solar, renewable energy, EPC, or large infrastructure projects.
- Exposure to solar foundation systems such as piles, micro piles, pedestals, and RCC foundations.
- Hands-on experience with roads, drainage, inverter buildings, and control room buildings.
- Strong capability in contractor and EPC coordination, HSE, and quality management.
- Knowledge of Primavera, MS Project, and AutoCAD is preferred.
- This is a full-time, site-based role at solar project locations, including large solar parks and remote sites.
- Travel between sites will be required during execution phases.
Additional information
The role is focused on delivering civil construction outcomes for solar EPC projects, with close coordination across engineering, execution, safety, quality, and commissioning teams.
