Role overview
This is an interview-based opening for a courier driver to handle timely package pick-up and delivery along an assigned route. The role also includes verifying shipments against Federal Express Canada service standards and delivering customer support as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and deliver parcels efficiently and courteously on a designated route.
- Check every shipment to make sure it meets Federal Express Canada service requirements.
- Provide customer service support connected to pick-up and delivery operations.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned as part of the position.
- Work in a Windows-based environment and complete all required periodic training and annual credentials, where applicable.
- Follow varying shifts as needed by business requirements.
Skills and qualifications
Applicants should have a high school diploma or an equivalent credential, a valid driver’s licence, and a clean driving history. The job requires the ability to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages weighing up to 150 lbs with the right equipment. A minimum score on mandatory pre-placement driver assessment training is required.
Prior customer-focused business experience of around 1 year is preferred. Familiarity with Federal Express Canada operations and Canadian Customs rules is considered an advantage. Strong interpersonal, communication, time-management, and organisational abilities are important, along with excellent customer service skills. The position also calls for the ability to handle multiple tasks, stay composed under pressure, and remain flexible for shifts and holidays based on operational needs.
Schedule and vehicle requirements
One schedule runs Tuesday to Saturday with start times between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. Another runs Monday to Friday with a 10:00 am start time. A full valid Class G licence is mandatory; G2 licences are not accepted. Candidates must be comfortable operating a Freightliner P1000.
Pay and additional information
This full-time courier role in Barrie (YBNA) is graded at 82 and pays $22.60 per hour. The starting wage may not apply to internal employees. The posting was listed on 19 June 2026 and was scheduled to close on 26 June 2026 at 3:00 pm local time.
