Business Analyst - Payment Processing

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Business Analyst with strong expertise in payment processing to support the Transit and Legacy Gateway product lines. This position is part of the product team and partners closely with product managers, product owners, engineers, QA, and client-facing product specialists.

You will connect business requirements with technical execution, turning detailed payment-domain needs into clear user stories and well-structured acceptance criteria. The role also includes using AI-enabled tools to develop developer portal content, learning material, and market research outputs.

Work Schedule

The shift timing for this role is 4:30 PM to 1:30 AM IST.

Key Responsibilities

You will help convert business needs into actionable stories, support agile delivery, and contribute to product documentation and AI-assisted content creation across multiple payment products.

• Convert business inputs into precise user stories with acceptance criteria, backed by a strong understanding of payment processing concepts such as authorization, capture, settlement, and chargebacks.
• Take part in backlog grooming, Agile scrum ceremonies, and sprint preparation so that stories are ready for delivery.
• Carry out gap analysis across product areas to surface risks, dependencies, and business impacts, then share the findings with stakeholders.
• Work closely with developers, QA, product managers, product owners, and client-facing product specialists to keep priorities and deliverables aligned.
• Support roadmap planning by understanding client requirements, market movement, and product direction, and collaborate with product owners on annual planning.
• Develop and update content for the Transit Developer Portal, including short-form video presentations, technical documentation, and step-by-step guides.
• Use AI tools, including Global Payments AI Copilot and other external platforms, to create portal content, market research, and training material while ensuring accuracy and avoiding hallucinations through a RAG-based approach using Transit documentation.
• Help build and maintain chatbot features for the Developer Portal using AI accelerator frameworks.
• Attend daily standups lasting 15–20 minutes and weekly product meetings to stay in sync with the team’s priorities.
• Work across several product lines, including Virtual Terminal, Hosted Payments, Gateway, Co-branded, and Commercial products.
• Provide development teams with complete context and accurate specifications to reduce last-minute changes and avoid costly post-release fixes.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should bring extensive experience in business analysis within payment processing, plus strong agile and documentation skills.

• 7 to 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or in a similar role.
• Background in payment processing or fintech, with a solid understanding of payment gateways and transaction flows including authorization, capture, and settlement.
• Practical experience with Agile and Scrum methods, including backlog handling, sprint planning, and user story writing.
• Ability to create detailed acceptance criteria and translate complex business logic into technical specifications.
• Experience in gap analysis, risk evaluation, and impact analysis for product features.
• Comfort working with developer portals, API documentation, and technical content creation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teams across different locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training or certification in AI accelerator programs such as OutSkill or equivalent.
• Experience using AI content-generation tools for videos, presentations, and market research.
• Exposure to Global Payments or other large-scale payment processing organizations.
• Familiarity with copilot tools and AI-assisted product development workflows.
• Experience creating short-form video content in a TikTok-style format for technical or product learning.
