Accountant

Role Overview

An IT services company in Abu Dhabi is hiring an experienced Accountant to oversee finance operations, project-focused accounting, and compliance activities. This role reports to the Finance Manager or CFO and is suited to professionals with 5 to 8 years of accounting background, ideally in technology or service-based businesses. The monthly salary offered is AED 10,000.

What You Will Do

• Maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, and complete account reconciliations.
• Manage payables and receivables, including billing clients for IT services and AMC agreements.
• Carry out project accounting by allocating costs, tracking revenue, and analyzing project profitability.
• Prepare financial statements and periodic reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support cash flow management.
• Keep ERP records accurate, current, and well-controlled.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning exercises.
• Monitor revenue from contracts such as AMC, SLAs, and milestone-linked billing.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Track operating expenses, supplier payments, and subcontractor costs.
• Compile MIS reports and management dashboards for decision-making.
• Ensure adherence to UAE laws, IFRS requirements, and company procedures.

Required Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• 5 to 8 years of accounting experience in the UAE, preferably in an IT services or technology-focused environment.
• Practical, hands-on experience with ERP systems is mandatory.
• Exposure to project accounting and service-revenue recognition is required.
• Working knowledge of IFRS, especially IFRS 15 and revenue recognition.
• Advanced Excel ability, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modelling.
• Experience supporting audits and financial compliance activities.
• Strong analytical ability with a structured approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Profile

Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA are considered an advantage, whether partially or fully completed. Experience with IT contracts, AMC invoicing, or subscription-style revenue models is also desirable, along with familiarity in multi-entity or multi-currency accounting.
