Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site Estimator position in Abu Dhabi. The selected candidate will examine project drawings and specifications, develop detailed cost estimates, and assess the labor, material, and equipment needed for each job. The role also includes gathering and reviewing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, preparing tender documentation and bills of quantities, and working closely with project managers and engineers to confirm scope and assumptions.
Key Duties
The Estimator will maintain and update cost records, monitor market pricing, and contribute to value engineering initiatives that help control project costs without compromising quality. The position also requires participation in bid evaluations, support during negotiation discussions, and ensuring that all estimates are precise, compliant, and completed on time.
Qualifications
- Strong ability with numbers and analysis, including detailed estimating and quantity take-offs.
- Practical knowledge of estimating and tendering workflows, such as interpreting drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Comfort using estimating systems and project tools, including Microsoft Excel and other specialized software, along with general computer proficiency.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for working with internal stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Excellent organization skills, the ability to juggle multiple deadlines, and a careful eye for detail in a busy setting.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a similar discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Previous experience in an Estimator position or a related role in construction, engineering, or a comparable sector, ideally within the UAE or GCC.
- Understanding of local pricing, industry norms, and applicable regulations is beneficial.
