TouchPoint Support Services is looking to add full-time Dispatchers at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. This role supports patient transportation by coordinating requests, monitoring movement, and helping ensure smooth, timely service for patients, families, visitors, and staff.
Work location and schedule
The position is based at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital, 5151 North Ninth Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504. Applications are accepted online only. The schedule is full time, with days that may change as needed. Typical hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and rotating weekends plus holidays are required. Compensation
This position offers a fixed pay rate of $16.00 per hour.
What the job involves
You will coordinate and track patient transportation activity by handling incoming transportation requests accurately and promptly. The role combines dispatch support, customer service, and direct coordination with transport staff and other departments to keep operations running efficiently.
Key duties
- Provide attentive, one-on-one customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
- Use knowledge of patient transport basics, infection control, and safe body mechanics.
- Apply dispatcher processes, explain transport activity, and assist with transport-related coordination.
- Oversee transport operations so tasks are completed on time and service standards are met.
- Monitor availability, task completion, and any service or workflow issues, then follow up as needed.
- Make sure requests are handled efficiently based on departmental priorities and patient appointment timing.
- Act as a communication bridge between Patient Transportation and other hospital departments.
- Issue, collect, and distribute pagers, and monitor daily sign-in/sign-out procedures.
- Build positive working relationships with patients, families, visitors, and hospital teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely dispatching to support maximum staff productivity.
- Address complaints or concerns from patients, visitors, staff, or employees and suggest solutions for recurring issues.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Experience and preferred background
Previous experience in housekeeping, call center work, or customer service is preferred. The employer also states that candidates who are willing to learn will be trained.
