Data Scientist

Role Overview

This position focuses on turning large-scale telecom and enterprise data into practical machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions. The role is centered on building models and AI-powered products that create measurable business value through telco insights. You will work alongside internal teams and external partners to shape new AI use cases and expand the organization’s AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Create scalable analytics and machine learning solutions for telecom big data use cases across different business areas.
• Develop robust analytical methods that are designed for performance on large datasets, follow model development best practices, and are verified through unit and system testing.
• Continuously evaluate existing methods to ensure they remain aligned with current industry standards.
• Build new analytics approaches, models, and techniques that strengthen the platform’s value proposition.
• Work independently on solutions that use modern AI and ML methods, including generative AI and large language models, to deliver value to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Take part in stakeholder discovery sessions and co-creation workshops to understand problems, assess requirements, and shape suitable analytical solutions.
• Drive technical discussions and collaboration with industry groups or research institutions to identify possible partnership opportunities.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field, together with at least 2 years of relevant experience in big data analytics application development; or a master’s degree/PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau or AWS QuickSight.
• Ability to present analytical findings to stakeholders and explain the business impact of data science initiatives.
• Practical experience with big data tools such as PySpark and Kafka.
• Programming experience in Python, Scala, or both.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Alibaba Cloud, or Huawei Cloud.
• Familiarity with real-time streaming technologies such as Spark Streaming or Apache Flink.
• Understanding of agile software development practices, including continuous integration and deployment.
• Strong attention to detail, a proactive learning mindset, and the ability to keep pace with industry changes.
• Creative thinking and strong problem-solving ability.
• Telco industry experience will be an added advantage.
