Cook Assistant

Role overview

This position supports the kitchen team in preparing meals for both students and staff at the school in Erode, Tamil Nadu. The role focuses on safe, hygienic, and timely food preparation in an educational setting.

What you will do

• Plan, prepare, and cook food items in line with menu plans and any special dietary needs.
• Keep the kitchen clean, orderly, and compliant with hygiene standards at all times.
• Track kitchen stock levels and place supply requests when items run low.
• Maintain up-to-date records for food ingredients, supplies, and kitchen equipment.
• Follow health, sanitation, and safety rules while handling food and operating in the kitchen.

Skills needed

• Hands-on ability in cooking and food preparation.
• Understanding of nutrition and dietary restrictions.
• Good planning, organization, and time management.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• Prior experience working as a cook in a school, hostel, hospital, or similar institutional environment.
• Food safety certification will be considered an advantage.
