Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position in Accra for an Assistant General Manager, Operations. The role supports the overall running of hotel operations and helps ensure smooth day-to-day performance across front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and other guest service functions. The position focuses on maintaining service quality, coordinating staffing schedules, tracking occupancy and revenue performance, and making sure operations follow company policies and local regulations.
Key Duties
You will supervise and guide staff, help resolve guest concerns quickly, and work with department heads to improve workflows and keep guest satisfaction high. The role also includes supporting budgeting, managing costs, preparing operational reports, and contributing to process improvements that align with the hotel’s business goals.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate should bring solid experience in general management and operations, preferably in hospitality or another service-driven environment. Strong leadership is important, including the ability to oversee teams, monitor performance, and coach staff to deliver excellent service. You should also have hands-on customer service experience, the ability to address guest feedback professionally, and practical knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and basic financial reporting. A bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent professional experience may also be considered. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with strong problem-solving, organization, and time management abilities. Comfort using hotel management systems and standard office software is expected, and familiarity with hospitality standards and regulations will be an added advantage.
