Role overview
This part-time administration assistant opportunity sits within antenatal outpatient and pregnancy assessment administration at Royal Derby Hospital. The post is for 27.5 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday, with shifts spread across the window of 07:30 to 19:00. Weekend and bank holiday working may occasionally be needed with reasonable notice, and applicants should be comfortable with that possibility before interview.
The Trust is seeking someone with an administration or customer service background, strong telephone communication skills, and a sharp eye for detail. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, dependable, and a supportive team member. A genuine interest in NHS service and helping deliver excellent patient care is important, along with the flexibility to adapt to service needs. Work will usually be based at the same site, although wider working locations may be available if beneficial to your development.

Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support within the antenatal outpatient and pregnancy assessment service.
- Handle telephone communication professionally and courteously.
- Maintain accurate, detail-focused administrative processes.
- Support the service by working flexibly across the required hours and, where needed, at different locations.
- Contribute as an active team player while helping to deliver excellent patient care.
Working arrangements
The role is based onsite at Royal Derby Hospital. The weekly schedule is 27.5 hours, Monday through Friday, with working times between 07:30 and 19:00. There may be occasional weekend and bank holiday duties, subject to reasonable notice.
