About the RoleThis position sits within the Castrol organization and focuses on end-to-end labour law compliance. If you are part of the ring-fence, your employment is expected to move with Castrol to new ownership.Key ResponsibilitiesManage statutory compliance activities, including timely filing of returns and upkeep of mandatory registers under labour laws such as PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments Act, and Factories Act.Track legal and regulatory updates and revise internal practices and policies accordingly.Maintain accurate statutory records and ensure remittances and submissions are completed within required timelines.Coordinate labour audits and inspections conducted by authorities, prepare supporting documentation, and close out observations or gaps.Work with internal teams and outside consultants to stay audit-ready and address compliance issues quickly.Review compliance obligations for vendors and contractors, including periodic checks of documents, contracts, and service agreements.Ensure labour-law clauses are properly included in third-party agreements.Identify compliance risks, document them in a risk register, and escalate concerns where needed.Support the drafting and rollout of labour compliance policies and assist in training HR and line managers on updates and protocols.Prepare compliance reports, dashboards, and management updates while maintaining complete documentation of compliance activities.Oversee the relevant Legatrix system and data for CIL.Liaise with labour departments and other regulatory bodies, and support the legal team with notices and labour-related litigation.Represent the organization in hearings or legal proceedings related to labour matters when required.RequirementsGraduate degree is required.Postgraduate qualification in HR or personnel management is preferred but optional.A law degree is an added advantage.5 to 7 years of post-qualification experience is expected.Working knowledge of employment legislation and exposure to employment-related litigation.Experience in a GCC environment will be considered beneficial.Proven ability to work across complex, geographically spread, and culturally varied settings.SkillsStrong understanding of business needsStakeholder influence and engagementAnalytical thinking and problem-solvingCross-functional collaborationCoaching and mentoring mindsetDocumentation and record managementCompliance systems or HRMS familiarityClear communication and coordinationAttention to detailAbility to work with supervisionCulture and Inclusionbp promotes a workplace where people are encouraged to speak up, respect different viewpoints, and work together with openness and trust.
