Role Overview

An established construction firm focused on industrial projects is seeking a Sitework Estimator in Huntsville, Alabama. The position centers on building accurate civil and sitework estimates, preparing competitive bids, and supporting project teams from preconstruction through execution.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this opportunity is $70,000 to $110,000 per year. The package includes medical, vision, and dental coverage, bonus potential, flex spending, a 401(k) match that contributes dollar-for-dollar up to 6%, life insurance, and three weeks of paid time off.

Key Duties

The estimator will review project documents, assess site conditions, and produce detailed takeoffs and budgets for grading, utilities, paving, and other civil scopes. The role also involves evaluating geotechnical information, collecting vendor and subcontractor pricing, checking proposal risk, and preparing submissions that clearly define inclusions and exclusions. In addition, the position supports value engineering, early-stage ROM budgeting, coordination with design and client teams, and technical assistance to operations during construction.

Core Qualifications

Candidates should bring prior experience in civil estimating or a closely related field, along with a solid grasp of estimating methods, cost analysis, and sourcing subcontractors and materials. Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Agtek, Bluebeam, OST, and Excel is expected. Strong numerical, analytical, communication, negotiation, organizational, and detail-management skills are essential. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Science is preferred, though extensive relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education.
