Project Engineer

Overview

Whyte Civil is seeking a Project Engineer to join its NSW team on a full-time basis with an immediate start. The business is a civil utility contractor focused on water and sewer infrastructure across New South Wales and Queensland, and the role has opened up because of continued growth and a healthy project pipeline.

Role summary

In this position, you will support the end-to-end delivery of water and sewer projects. The work involves helping with planning, execution, and completion while partnering with project managers and site crews to keep projects safe, on schedule, and within budget.

Key duties

• Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
• Work with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to keep delivery aligned.
• Track compliance with quality, safety, and environmental requirements on site.
• Draft and manage project paperwork such as ITPs, RFIs, and progress claims.
• Assist with procurement activities and cost tracking/control.
• Address day-to-day engineering issues and look for better ways of working.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant has a civil engineering degree, or an equivalent qualification, along with at least 2 years of experience in civil infrastructure. Experience in water and sewer projects is preferred. You should understand construction methods and standards, communicate clearly, solve problems effectively, and work well as part of a hands-on team.
