Role overview

UltraTech Cement is seeking an Officer for its Plant Excellence & Projects-IU team in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. The position is aimed at strengthening logistics performance, operational discipline, and continuous improvement across plant-linked supply chain activities.

Key responsibilities

• Keep a close watch on logistics performance in real time and act quickly when results deviate from targets.
• Make sure SOPs, operating systems, and reporting practices are followed consistently across plant operations.
• Review S&OP adherence and flag differences in dispatch volumes, segment mix, and interstate movement.
• Study logistics cost factors and share practical recommendations to reduce expenses.
• Track customer service level at the order level and contribute to better service outcomes.
• Spot operational gaps and help implement process or system changes that improve efficiency.
• Train and support teams in using tools such as SAP and Eye to Serve to improve performance monitoring.
• Evaluate logistics KPIs and work on improvements in route planning, mode mix, fleet usage, fleet size optimization, and truck/rake loading turnaround time.
• Create and follow time-bound action plans to improve performance.
• Set up standardized KPI tracking methods to support data-based decisions.
• Work closely with PLH, Rail Coordinators, and Road Coordinators to improve logistics efficiency end to end.
• Encourage wider use of performance systems through regular engagement and feedback.

Requirements

• 3 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
• MBA qualification.
• Working knowledge of supply chain and logistics operations.
• Ability to coordinate rail and road dispatch activities.
• Experience or understanding of dispatch planning and execution.
• Comfort with cost analysis, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
• Ability to plan routes and support logistics optimization initiatives.
• Familiarity with ERP or performance systems such as SAP and Eye to Serve.
