Role overview
Ryanair is hiring a Maintenance Controller to join its Engineering team in Dublin, Ireland, supporting one of Europe’s largest airline groups. This opportunity sits within a fast-growing environment as the business works toward a future fleet of more than 800 aircraft and 300 million guests annually over the next decade.
Working from the head office in Dublin and reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, the role focuses on delivering technical expertise across fleet defects and maintenance activity for more than 600 aircraft. The position is centered on monitoring technical issues, aligning maintenance with operational needs, and helping maintain strong airworthiness, reliability, and serviceability standards.
Key responsibilities
- Assist line maintenance activities so the fleet remains operational and serviceable.
- Help resolve aircraft defects efficiently and effectively.
- Coordinate and support the recovery and repair of aircraft on ground (AOG), including all steps needed to return them to service.
- Stay in regular contact with flight crew to understand and assess reported technical issues.
- Make sure aircraft are positioned in the right locations to support both operational and engineering needs.
- Work with the Operations team to prioritize flight and operational requirements.
- Track hold item lists (HIL), deferred defects (DD), and minimum equipment list (MEL) items so rectification happens promptly.
- Carry out additional project work as assigned by engineering management.
Requirements
- Valid EASA Part 66 licence (B1 or B1/B2) with a B737 NG type rating.
- At least 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, ideally on B737 NG aircraft.
- Prior experience in a Maintenance Control setting is preferred.
- Availability to work shift patterns as needed.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and adapting to change quickly.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate the competencies and skills listed for the role.
