Role Overview
This position is for a Frontend Developer working across web and mobile products. The role is based in St Kilda, Victoria, and includes a hybrid arrangement with the option to work from home two days each week.
You will contribute to a range of client projects, developing modern web and mobile applications with React, React Native, and Ember.js. Working in close partnership with designers and backend engineers, you will convert refined UX/UI concepts into interfaces that are clean, efficient, and easy to maintain, while also integrating APIs and supporting polished end-user experiences.
In addition, you will take part in technical conversations, enhance existing applications, review code, diagnose interface issues, and help define architecture and frontend practices across several products. The role also involves agile collaboration, direct client interaction, and openness to evaluating new tools and technologies that improve delivery.
Full-stack capability with Python/Django is considered a strong plus.
Qualifications
- Hands-on commercial experience with React in modern web application development.
- Practical experience creating mobile applications with React Native.
- Working knowledge of Ember.js, or the ability to quickly contribute in an existing Ember codebase.
- Strong command of JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS3, including responsive design, Flexbox, Grid, animations, and browser compatibility.
- Experience connecting to RESTful APIs and collaborating with backend teams.
- Sharp attention to detail and the ability to implement design work accurately.
- Comfort using Git, participating in code reviews, and following modern development practices.
- Ease working in an agile, team-oriented environment with designers, developers, and clients.
- Python/Django experience is a significant advantage, especially for those interested in full-stack work.
- Exposure to healthcare, enterprise, or similarly complex digital products is highly valued.
