Data Scientist

Role Overview

This position is for a Data Scientist based in Montreal, Quebec, with an on-site setup from day one and a requirement to work from the office three days per week. The role sits within a machine learning squad focused on building artificial intelligence solutions, including machine learning and generative AI.

The Operations Technology and Shared Ops groups build solutions that help move and safeguard capital, automate manual business processes, manage exception lifecycles, and improve cross-team collaboration.

What You Will Do

• Help build and maintain machine learning models that solve business problems.
• Support model evaluation, tuning, feature selection, and calibration work for predictive analytics initiatives.
• Contribute to prompt engineering efforts for data analysis and discovery use cases.
• Run regular tests and analyze performance outcomes.
• Carry out required benchmarking experiments.
• Work closely with clients and subject matter experts to understand business needs and translate them into code and model solutions.
• Develop Python-based solutions and support the full lifecycle of machine learning and generative AI models, including ongoing monitoring and maintenance.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience.
• Practical experience creating machine learning and data science solutions for real-world problems.
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, model behavior, and best practices.
• Exposure to OpenAI and other LLMs, along with prompt engineering, testing, and performance evaluation.
• Solid statistical and data science capabilities.
• A strong problem-solving mindset with an innovative approach.
• Excellent Python development skills.
• Good communication skills.
