Role overview
This permanent full-time opportunity is for a Bus Driver supporting FIFO operations from Townsville, Queensland, on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster for the Labona site. The role offers a starting salary of $86,300 per annum plus superannuation and is suited to someone who can deliver safe, reliable and comfortable passenger transport.
The position sits within a large global services organisation focused on keeping remote village and site environments safe, functional and well supported. In addition to driving duties, the role also includes contributing to utilities and other general site support tasks when you are not on the road.
Key duties
- Operate passenger transport services safely and professionally across the region.
- Support site operations by assisting with utilities and general duties when not driving.
- Carry out manual handling tasks as part of non-driving support work.
- Follow all transport laws, site rules and safety procedures at all times.
- Work a 14-on, 7-off FIFO roster with 11-hour shifts.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will be a capable and confident driver with a strong focus on passenger safety and service. You should be comfortable working in remote conditions, including extreme weather, and be willing to take on varied tasks beyond driving.
Mandatory requirements
- Australian driver licence.
- Current MR, HR or MC licence with an H endorsement.
- Ability to travel to and from work safely.
- Strong passenger-handling ability and a professional approach.
- Proven safe driving experience in different road and weather conditions.
- Physical fitness for long, active shifts of up to 11 hours.
- Ability to work in remote environments and harsh weather conditions.
- National Police Check if a valid one from the last 6 months is not already held.
- Clear pre-employment medical clearance, including drug and alcohol screening.
- Previous kitchen experience is an advantage, though it is not essential.
