About the Role
The Associate Data Engineer will help build and support the data backbone used for reporting, analytics, and decision-making. This position works closely with teams such as Business Intelligence, Data Operations, IT, and other business stakeholders to understand what the business needs and turn those needs into practical technical solutions. The role involves handling large, complex datasets, creating dependable data pipelines, and making sure data remains accurate, complete, and available.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and fine-tune data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and warehouse structures that improve how data is collected, stored, and accessed.
- Create and maintain data models and schemas that support analysis, reporting, and visualization while following data quality and governance standards.
- Prepare data by cleaning, transforming, and aggregating it to uncover useful insights, while spotting inconsistencies, unusual values, and data issues and resolving them.
- Work with different departments to understand business requirements and build analytics solutions that address those needs.
- Document data workflows, structures, and movement of data clearly, and explain technical findings in a simple way to non-technical teams such as Credit/Structuring, Operations, and Legal.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science/Analytics, or another closely related discipline.
- At least 4 years of experience in a Data Engineer, Analytical Engineer, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Engineer, or comparable role.
- Prior experience with finance-related datasets, including FinTech, lending, financial services, or similar sectors.
- Strong command of SQL and comfort working with large, complex datasets.
- Working knowledge of data modeling, data governance, ETL/ELT practices, dbt-based transformations, Snowflake-based warehousing, AWS cloud environments, orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster, and API usage/integration is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical ability and problem-solving skills with the capacity to turn complex information into practical insights.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and a consistent focus on delivering quality work on time.
- Openness to learning new technologies, tools, and methods in data engineering and analytics, plus the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment.
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to candidates with a B.Tech or B.E. in any specialization who meet the experience and technical requirements listed above.
